Compelity: A Revenue Capability Company
A seller can leave a conversation with useful information and still misunderstand what the buyer has concluded, what remains unresolved, or whether the buyer is prepared to act.
The Advanced Sales Conversation Model© gives structure to the judgment required in a pre-sale conversation: listening for meaning, exploring decision conditions, and choosing a response that fits what is happening. It is Compelity’s conversation-and-judgment component within Architecting the Deal©.
Interest, appreciation, and a willingness to meet again are worth understanding. They do not tell the seller everything that matters.
The buyer may still be working through whether the issue warrants action, who needs to agree, which risks must be resolved, or what a change would require. The Advanced Sales Conversation Model© concerns the seller’s judgment in that conversation. What does the buyer mean? Which assumption needs to be examined? Is the useful response a question, an observation, a challenge, a recommendation, or more space to think?
A conversation alone does not establish buyer commitment or opportunity advancement.
Listen to what the buyer says and attend to the emphasis, uncertainty, and assumptions behind it. A complete answer to a question may still leave the important issue untouched.
Examine what the buyer is trying to change, why it matters, who is involved, and what might prevent a decision. Distinguish what the buyer has recognized from what the seller has inferred.
A useful response follows from the situation. Asking another question by habit can be as unhelpful as moving immediately to a recommendation. Framing, challenge, and restraint each require judgment.
What a buyer says and does in a conversation can inform the team’s understanding of an opportunity. It must be interpreted alongside other buyer-side evidence and unresolved conditions.

Deal Structure And Buyer Evidence
Architecting the Deal© is Compelity’s end-to-end opportunity-judgment model. The Advanced Sales Conversation Model© provides its conversation-and-judgment component.
Theory of the Deal© provides the planning component. Core Commitments Model© provides the deal-structure and buyer-evidence component. The three roles connect, but they are not interchangeable. A conversation does not by itself describe the complete opportunity or establish buyer commitment.
The ASC course provides structured study and practice in pre-sale conversation judgment. Its assessment is a separate step for learners seeking practitioner certification.
You may be working on how to interpret buyer meaning, examine a difficult conversation, or choose a response more deliberately. The ASC course provides a path for structured learning and practice.
A team may need a shared way to examine buyer conversations, practice judgment, and discuss the evidence those conversations provide. Compelity can examine that need through a client-configured organizational engagement using applicable capabilities and resources.
The Advanced Customer Conversation Model© is Compelity’s distinct post-sale conversation model, currently in development and expected to be released in early 2027. Selected Advanced Sales Conversation Model© conversation and judgment concepts informed its direction and are being adapted for post-sale use.
Customer Progress Conversations is the related post-sale capability and conversation domain which is also in development and scheduled for release in early 2027.
